  • What Does Getting a Dental Bridge Involve?

Getting a bridge usually requires two or more visits

Appointment 1

While your tooth is numb, our dentist will prepare the involved teeth by removing any decay and shaping the surface to properly fit the future bridge. A mold or impression of the teeth is taken and a temporary restoration (temporary bridge) will be placed before you walk out of our office.

At this appointment, our highly trained dentists at Alpha Dental Excellence will do what they do best. Sit with you and design your new tooth. Here, they will select things such as shape, size, color, characteristics of your dental bridge, etc…

Appointment 2

On the second visit, our doctors will first get your approval of your bridge on the model before proceeding to give you a test run in your mouth. Once you and your dentist have with 100% satisfaction accepted the entirety of the bridge in your mouth, then only will we proceed with the final cementation process. (If you are unhappy with any, we mean, any aspect of your bridge, we will simply resolve it in our office or send it back to the lab for modifications before the cementation process.)

At this stage, the bite is checked and all necessary adjustments for the bridge is made. The bridge is then polished and cemented on your teeth with a very strong dental cement. All cements are than cleaned up.

You will receive care instructions at the conclusion of the procedure. Proper brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your new permanent bridge.
